Editorial Policy
Purpose
Our editorial mission is to make microscopy more approachable for citizen scientists and home enthusiasts by publishing clear, independent, and practical guidance.
Independence & Integrity
We do not accept payment for positive coverage. Editorial decisions—what we test, recommend, or critique—are made by our team and are not influenced by manufacturers or retailers.
Review Process
- Selection: We choose products based on community interest, availability, and potential to improve a home setup.
- Hands‑on testing: We evaluate items in real environments using standardized procedures (see How We Test).
- Verification: Claims are checked against measurements, documentation, and cross‑device trials.
Sources & Citations
When we reference technical data, standards, or scientific literature, we cite the original source or include manufacturer documentation for clarity.
Corrections & Updates
If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and note what changed. Products evolve; we revisit guides and recommendations as firmware, manufacturing, or availability shifts.
Conflicts of Interest
Team members must disclose any personal or financial relationships that could bias coverage. We decline assignments where conflicts cannot be mitigated.
Affiliate Links
Some outbound links are affiliate links, which may earn us a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our testing or recommendations. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
User Contributions
Comments, tips, and community photos may be featured with permission and proper credit. Submissions must be respectful and on topic.
AI‑Assisted Tools
We may use AI tools for drafting outlines, grammar checks, or summarizing specifications. Human editors review and approve all content prior to publication.
